City History Gallery in Jastrzębie-Zdrój - a museum-like institution located in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. The City History Gallery operates within the framework of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
The institution was established in 2002 and its first seat was a part of Public Nursery No 1 at 14 Wrzosowa Street. Due to plans to enlarge the nursery, in 2009 the Gallery had to vacate the premises it occupied. In the years 2009-2010 it operated in Dom Zdrojowy. Since October 2010, the facility has been located in the former Łazienki II building, dating from the years 1910-1912, located in the Zdrojowy Park.
Currently the museum has two permanent exhibitions. At present, the facility has two permanent exhibitions: an ethnographic exhibition called "A Silesian cottage", which reconstructs the appearance of an old: dwelling room, chamber and smithy, and a mining exhibition arranged in the form of a pit, with an exhibition showing mining tools and customs.
It plans to organize permanent exhibitions on the history of the city and the Solidarity Trade Union in Upper Silesia and Zagłębie Dąbrowskie. The Gallery also organizes temporary exhibitions. Since 2006 the gallery has been publishing a quarterly magazine called "The City History Gallery Bulletin".
GHM is a year-round facility, open Monday through Friday, and during the summer also on Sunday.
