Marusarzowa Turnia, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Marusarzowa Turnia - a clearly visible culmination in the Frog Ridge in the High Tatras. It is located on the Polish-Slovakian border between Marusarzowa Pass and Owcza Pass. The former separates Marusarzowa Turnia from Żabie Peak Low, the latter from Owczych Turniczki.
Marusarzowa Turnia descends in the eastern direction to the Frog Ponds Białczańskie Valley with a solid and vertical wall of 30 m height. Westward, towards the Morskie Oko Lake, there is a rocky rib separating the Owczy Żleb from the right branch of the Marusarzowy Żleb. In this rib there are three little towers. The lower two have a relative height of about 10 m, the upper one is similar in size to Marusarzowa Turni. Its walls are about 50 m high. Between the little towers there are three saddles. All of them can be easily passed from Owcze to Marusarzowy Żleb. The widest is the highest saddle called Marusarzowy Prze喚wy.
The name of the crag and the nearby pass was introduced in 1954 to commemorate Jedrzej Marusarz, a mountaineer, Tatra guide and mountain rescuer.
