Piotr Wawrzyniak in Śrem was unveiled on November 15, 2010 at 4:00 pm on the promenade by the Warta River, where already on June 30, 2010 a monument-vault of Heliodor Święcicki was unveiled. The monument to Father Piotr Wawrzyniak was erected on the initiative of the Father Piotr Wawrzyniak Society, as part of the celebrations of the 160th anniversary of his birth and 100th anniversary of his death, with the support of the Father Piotr Wawrzyniak Cooperative People's Bank.
The author of the monument is sculptor Krzysztof Jakubik, creator of the Hipolit Cegielski monument in Poznan.
The monument depicts a priest wearing a hat, with a book on his lap, sitting on a stone bench. Next to it there is a granite stele with an inscription: Rev. Piotr Wawrzyniak / 1849 - 1910 / Organist / Founder of banking cooperative.
The statue is the second monument to a distinguished resident of Śrem, next to the one by the parish church of Sacred Heart of Jesus.
