Facts and practical information
The Church of Santa Catarina was built in the 16th century in Lisbon by Catarina of Austria. On November 1, 1755, the great earthquake and subsequent fire that destroyed the city of Lisbon destroyed much of the building. The building was rebuilt in 1757. The fire in 1835 destroyed a good part of the building. The church of the Convento dos Paulistas became a parish church, under the patronage of Santa Catarina, in 1835.
