The Monument to the Overseas Combatants is a monument located next to the Bom Sucesso Fort, in Belém, Lisbon. It was created to honor all the soldiers who fought in the African War, in defense of the Homeland. It was created in 1991 by a team led by architect Francisco José Ferreira Guedes de Carvalho.
It was inaugurated on January 15, 1994 by Adriano Moreira and General Altino de Magalhães, president of the League of Combatants at the time. Since that year, on June 10, the National Combatants' Meeting is held there.
