The second wooden church in Ieud, in the plain or valley, an old Greek-Catholic place of worship, was built, according to archival documents in 1712, but tradition says in 1717. The interior was decorated in Byzantine style in 1765 by the painter Alexandru Ponehalschi. The church is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and is listed as a historical monument, LMI code MM-II-a-A-04587.
