Ciortea Vest

Ciortea is a mountain located in the Făgăraș Massif. Its main peak is Ciortea Peak 1, which has an altitude of 2,427 metres. A short distance away are two other peaks listed as distinct mountain peaks : Ciortea 2 and Ciortea 3. At its foot, to the north, is Lake Avrig. Access to this peak is from the east, from the "Western Gârbovei Saddle", on a tourist trail marked with a red cross. The trail was marked in August 2013 by the Green Echoes Association, through the involvement of members and volunteers of the association, as part of the volunteer program for mountain trails, Potecătorii.
