The Volgograd Planetarium is the only planetarium in the Lower Volga region.
Opened on September 19, 1954. Located on Gagarin Street in Volgograd. The authors of the project are V. N. Simbirtsev, People's Architect of the USSR, and architect M. A. Khomutov. The building is crowned by the last work of Vera Mukhina - the sculptural group Mir.
