When Is the Best Time To Visit Saudi Arabia?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Saudi Arabia depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Climate of Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is one of the driest countries in the world, with an average annual rainfall of less than 5 cm. The climate is mainly determined by changing southerly winds during the winter months, which bring rain and cold days. Other factors, such as latitude, proximity to the sea and altitude, also affect the climate.
Even several kilometers inland, the climate has continental characteristics, where there is little influence from the sea. This fact is compounded by the sheer width of the Red Sea, where further inland there is a compact area of the African continent. The same is true to the east, where the waters of the Persian Gulf are not extensive, and behind them lies the vast expanse of Asia. This makes the influence of water bodies small and translates slightly into temperatures.
A characteristic feature of Saudi Arabia's climate is the widespread sand and dust storms that often haunt cities, including the capital Riyadh.
