Golica formerly also called Holica, words. Holica - a peak in the Golica group in the Slovak part of Pieniny. It is often classified as small Pieniny, although it is structurally associated with the three -crowned massif. According to Eugeniusz Janota, the name of the mountain comes from the fact that several dozen years ago the forest burned on it and she was bare.
It is the end of the ridge deviating from the second in terms of height of the vertex is crying northeast, on the Limierz pass turning northwest. Golica is characterized by a narrow, about 1 km long and a relatively even ridge with a more clearly marked vertex on the south-eastern edge. This back falls on three sides - from the north, west and partly the South - very steep slopes to the Dunajec valley. The eastern part of the southern slope is milder and dehydrates it by a small stream that is the right -bank tributary of the Dunajec, while the eastern slope goes down to the Valley of the Leśnickie Potok. In the south -east, the ridge lowers from the top by about 100 m on a moderate slope, and then runs towards Wierch Łazka, after which the Limierz Pass reaches a balanced section.
In addition to the main vertex, there are several blurred culminations in the back. From an unknown top at the northwestern end, a short, steep ridge culminating in the clearing just above the Dunajec.
It is built of cornea limestones. Its northern, rising to a height of 400 m above the groundbreaking Dunajec Valley, the slopes have a decrease in about 45 ° and are characterized by numerous occurrence of limestone rock formations. Their largest group is seven monks located on the south-west slope. It extends from the foot to over 700 m a.s.l. Occupying the western half of this slope and consists of several rock turns. The eastern end of the north-eastern slope is also covered with a rock itself, and the majority of it, northeast of Wierch Łazka and excluding the eastern slope, includes its National Dunajec Natural Reserve.
Tourist trails do not lead to the top and it is unavailable to tourists. The only route shared for tourist traffic is the Pienińska Road running along the Dunajec at the foot of the mountain. It leads from Szczawnica to the red monastery.
