The water department between these rivers runs through the peak and north-east ridge of Smerekowa.
The name of the peak comes from the Rusini word "Smerek" meaning spruce and appears on the Geppert map from 1810-1812 as Smeretcina Brg. In the north-eastern direction from Smerekowa, there is a low back on the Slovak side with a few vertices. The highest of them is Mindalová.
