Ostrva, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Ostna - peak with a height of 1980 m or 1984 m a.s.l. Located in the High Tatras, on the Slovak side, in the back separating the Mięguszowiecka Valley and the Valley of Wielka Huczawa.
The Massif of Osterwa is located directly above the Poprad Staw and, like the nearby Podłęcz Pod Oserweg, is a good viewpoint for the Mięguszowiecka Valley and the Złomisk Valley.
The peak has three vertices, of which the highest is closest to the Podłęcz Pod Oserwą, separating the entire massif from the blunt. No marked tourist trail leads to Oswa. Many tourists go to a small tip, because the Tatra Magistrala runs through the Pass under Osterwą, and reaching from the pass to the top does not pose any problems. Southwest of the summit, there is a wide ridge, in which they are located in turn: Wychośnieka in Osterwa, Ostena Zadnia, Niżnie Returned in Osterwa, indirect, extreme Oserva, Smrekowiec - a fragment of the back covered with coniferous forest.
Slightly below the ridge, west of Osterwa, there are a needle in Osterwa and a small needle in Osterwa.
The name of the peak probably comes from Ostrewka, a structure for drying hay consisting of one Żerdka with cut branches or three Żerdek associated with the shape of the pyramid. The massive of the osterwa itself does not resemble the shape of the pyramid, probably the name was moved from the neighboring blunt.
At the foot of the mountain there is a Tatra symbolic cemetery.
It has been climbed to the top for a long time. The first well -known entrance was made by Haag Junior, Herut, Dr. Kloss, Viktor Lorenc, Treutler and guides with Ján Ruman Driečny younger at the forefront of August 20, 1875. In winter, Theodor Wundt entered the first in winter on December 24, 1891.
From the name of the peak, the famous interwar actor, Juliusz Oserva, took his artistic nickname.
