The Church of Santa Úrsula, located in the municipality of Santa Úrsula, island of Tenerife, is a temple with a single nave and a Latin cross plan, with a main chapel and two side chapels separated by stone arches. Its masonry façade has a semicircular doorway between Tuscan pilasters and a finial with architrave, plain frieze and triangular pediment inscribed in a dihedral gable with a small oculus at the apex. The attached belfry is recent with a double semicircular arch and a pediment with balls at the vertices. The roof is of Arabic tile to two waters of triple thread. The lateral façade to the square has a second semicircular stone doorway and a glazed window; while the angle generated by the Epistle chapel is occupied by the body of the parish house, in a nondescript language.
The arabic tile gable roof and triple thread occupies the ship of the temple, while in the side chapels it is a four-sided roof. Attached to the north façade, a new tower was built in 1993 in exposed stonework, except for the top.
Inside, the nave has a coffered ceiling of pair and knuckle, with six braces and geometric decoration, and an arch in stonework on Ionic capitals that leads to the transept. The main chapel and the side chapels have an octagonal roof with geometric decoration. The sacristy is located behind the main chapel.
Of this church begun in the 16th century, reformed and enlarged in the 17th century, it is worth highlighting the decoration of the façade, being an example of the traditional patterns of religious building in the Canary Islands.
Historical Monument After February 15, 1988, date on which the Territorial Direction of Culture of the Autonomous Government communicated to the president of the municipal corporation, having initiated proceedings to declare the temple of Santa Ursula artistic historical monument of interest to the Canary Islands community, the mayor Fernando Luis González, with the support of his colleagues in the consistory and the collaboration of the parish priest Jerónimo Hernández Rodríguez, made active efforts to achieve its total restoration. The same, developed successfully, culminating in its first stage with the award - on September 7, 1988 - of the works of the cover - budgeted at 15,615,438 pesetas - to the company "Miguel Hernandez Ventura", work began on November 14, 1988 under the direction of the architect Rafael Miranda Flores, and completed on September 23 of the following year.
