The duchy of Benavente is a Spanish hereditary noble title granted by King Henry IV of Castile on 28 January 1473 in favour of Rodrigo Alonso Pimentel, iv Count of Benavente, and Lord of Villalón, Mayorga, Betanzos, Allariz, Aguiar, Sandiáñez, Milmanda and Sande, and great-grandson of Juan Alfonso Pimentel, a knight of Portuguese origin in the service of the Crown of Castile, to whom King Ferdinand III of Castile granted the County of Benavente.
