Grand Temple, La Chaux-de-Fonds
Facts and practical information
The tower clock from the Grand Temple in La Chaux-de-Fonds was built in 1860 by Armand Collin on the order of the city with the financial support of the local watch testing center and installed as a standard clock in the tower of the Reformed Church. There it served as a time base for the watch metropolis for many years, until it was finally moved to the International Watch Museum. In choosing the maker, the Swiss watch specialists were well aware that at the time, no tower clock maker equaled the Parisian Collin in quality of workmanship, who had been running his workshop since 1852 as the successor to Bernard-Henri Wagner.
