The black-crested Sumatran langur, a captivating primate belonging to the Cercopithecidae family, resides in the verdant island of Sumatra in Indonesia. These distinctive creatures thrive in subtropical and tropical dry forests, but unfortunately, their habitat is rapidly diminishing.
Until recently, the black Sumatran langur, the black-and-white langur, and the mitered langur were all classified as subspecies of Presbytis melalophos.
