Nut Gaj - a park located in Lviv, in the Wulka and Kulparków district, in the Frankowski region.
The park is located in the southern part of the city, it covers an area of 35.86 ha between the streets of Andreja Sacharowa, Bojkowska and north of Włodzimierza Wielkiego Street and east of Prince Olga Street. The Lviv-Chodorów railway line runs through the park, dividing it into two parts, from the east there is the Dynamo club stadium.
Initially, these areas did not have an official name, in the 70s they began to be described as "the 30th anniversary of Lviv liberation". In the southern part, the "Orlątko" cinema was built here, currently his name is Sokół. At the beginning of the 90s, it was changed to the current one, which comes from the numerous hornbeams, whose fruit is peanuts.
The park consists of two separate parts, northern adheres to the tax office and borders the Lviv Polytechnic campus on the west. From the side of Bojkowska Street, the park is devastated, it was partly cut for the construction of an apartment building.
In the southern part there are two water reservoirs, one of which is covered with vegetation and slowly turns into a peat bog. The remaining part of the park is occupied by the Oleska Valley, whose bottom flows the Wulecki stream, which is the tributary of the full. Nut grove is covered with hornbeam, beeches, oaks, birch, a small fir grove is growing here. The world of fauna is represented by squirrels and marten as well as amphibians and birds, including Crossword duck.
By local residents, it is considered a dangerous place and visited by a social margin in 2008 In the southern part of the park, the construction of a housing complex began, which reduced its area. The park area is devastated and the water reservoirs treated as a place for storing old tires and garbage. In 2014, the park reclamation began, water reservoirs were cleaned, but at the same time reeds and thickets were destroyed, which served as the breeding sites of water birds. When cleaning the larger tank, two trucks of old tires and ten trash trucks were transported.
