Park Bodnarivka, Lviv
Facts and practical information
Bodnarówka Park - a park in Lviv, located in the Kulparków district, in the Frankowski region.
The 5.8 ha park was founded around 1960 at the border of Kulparków and Bodnarki at the intersection of Stryjska and Scientific Streets. Initially, it was called the 50th anniversary of October. In 1965, in the central part of the park a monument-pearl of the Red Army Soldier was built, which was killed in 1950 at the hands of the "enemies of the Soviet power". In 1972, the park was overwhelmed, an An-10 aircraft was set up in it, in which the "Litak" Children's Theater operated.
After 1991, the buried soldier was exhumed and the monument was demolished, the plane was also removed. In its place, a wooden one was built in 1992, and then in 1998–2005 a stone church of Saints Martyrs Boris and Gleb. In the years 2010–2011 the park underwent revalorization, a small water reservoir was restored and new lighting was installed.
