Monument of Glory - a monument commemorating the 100th anniversary of the victory of the Russian army of Peter I over the Swedish armies of Charles XII at the Battle of Poltava on June 27, 1709. The monument was erected in 1811 in the center of the Round Square in Poltava. The Monument of Glory sets the perspective of eight streets of the city, being its ideological and urbanistic dominant, creating together with the Round Square construction the ensemble of Russian classicism times.
