Aleucis distinctata, commonly known as the sloe carpet or Kent mocha, is a captivating moth from the Geometridae family. First described by entomologist Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1839, this species boasts a wide distribution, inhabiting various parts of Europe, as well as Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan.
The sloe carpet is relatively small, with a wingspan of about 27 to 31 mm. These moths typically emerge in April and produce only one generation per year. The larvae have a particular preference for Prunus spinosa, commonly known as blackthorn, which serves as their primary food source.
