Playa Cayo Sal

Cayo Sal is an island in the southeastern Caribbean Sea south of Cayo Borracho and north of Cayo Muerto and Cayo Peraza. Administratively it is part of the Monseñor Iturriza Municipality of Falcón state in western Venezuela, and is also a protected area in the Morrocoy National Park.
It has an approximate area of 61.78 hectares or 617,836.14 m² with a perimeter of 3.71 km. It is located 1 km northeast of the Venezuelan town of Chichiriviche.
It is a well-known tourist destination among the inhabitants of this South American country. Its vegetation is basically made up of palm trees, has a small chapel and is named after a salt near the island. It stands out for having a large lagoon in its central part.
Not to be confused with a much larger key of the same name located in Los Roques National Park, in the Federal Dependencies.
