Facts and practical information
The St. Pölten Hut is an alpine club hut of the St. Pölten Section of the Austrian Alpine Club in the province of Salzburg on the border with Tyrol. It is located in the Venedigergruppe at 2481 m above sea level west above the pass of the Felber Tauern, which forms the transition to the Granatspitzgruppe.
Directly above the hut runs the 380 kV line between Kaprun and Lienz. On the saddle is the Tauern Cross, consecrated in 1952, in front of which a mountain mass is celebrated on the last Sunday in August.
