Kaple Panny Marie Opatrovnice, Olomouc

Chapel of Mary Miss Babysitan - a chapel on the castle hill in Olomouc, on the corner of Dómska and Mlčochova streets, in front of Václavské Náměstí. She is also known under the Czech names of Miss Marie Potętrantelky or Madona Ochránkyně Olomouce.

Neoromańska, built in 1860 by architect Franz Kottas on the site of a residential house, demolished in the first half of the 19th century. Masonry on a rectangular plan, embedded at an angle of 45 ° into a wall surrounding the adjacent property. Behind the decorative forged grille lies a small room with an altar and a plaster copy of a valuable Gothic relief from the 15th century depicting the figure of the Virgin Mary with the Child. In the upper part on both sides there are ideas of two angels. In the lower part of the bas -relief, under the parted coat of the Virgin Mary, we see a number of human figures going under her care. On the left, these are representatives of the clergy, while on the right - representatives of the secular state. On the sides of the relief there are two niches, originally intended for the Gothic sculptures of St. Piotr and Saint. Paweł.

The original relief, from the now defunct church of the Virgin Mary in the outer, as well as both of these sculptures that come from the demolished church of St. Piotr in the outer ward, they have been located since 1974 in the nearby cathedral of St. Wacław.
