Facts and practical information
Choustník is a castle ruin about one kilometre east of the village of the same name in the Tábor district. It stands on the top of a dominant hill at an altitude of 660 m inside the Choustník Nature Reserve. The castle is a rare example in the Czech Republic of a so-called ganerbenburg, or a castle consisting of several cores that housed several different owners. The ruins of the castle have been sensitively restored and opened to the public. The tower of the castle serves as a lookout tower. Since 1958 it has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
