Vranov, Jablonec nad Nisou
Facts and practical information
Vranov is a ruin of a rock castle on the right side of the Jizera River, towering above the North Bohemian village of Malá Skála, Jablonec nad Nisou district. Only tiny remains of the late medieval rock castle, which was the largest fortification of its kind in the Czech lands with a length of about 400 metres, have survived to this day - covered by a romantic reconstruction from the early 19th century, which turned the site into a peculiar rock monument to various historical figures. Vranov is a popular tourist destination in the Malá Skála region of the PPK due to its beautiful views from the steep cliffs and the very rugged terrain.
