Rájec nad Svitavou Chateau
Facts and practical information
Rájec Palace nad Svitavou-a historic palace, located in the Moravian city of Rájec-Nadziebí, in the Rájec district nad Svitavou. He was recognized by the national monument of the Czech Republic culture.
In the place of today's palace, on the hill referred to as Hradisko, in the 13th or 14th century a fortress was established, which in the 16th century was rebuilt into a Renaissance palace. He was then in the hand of Drnovských family from Drnovic. The next owners were the Austrian Roggendorf family, which obtained the object after marriage with the heir to the Drnovských estate. Finally, in 1763 the palace got into the hands of the Salm-Reiferscheidt-Raitz family, the last private hosts in Rájiec. It made a wide reconstruction of the object in the style of a rococo classicism.
In 1945, the Palace confiscated the Czechoslovak state based on Beneš decrees, which four years later made available to visitors the ground floor of the building. Then the museum Moravského Krasu opened in it, which, however, worked briefly. In the following decades, many years of interior repairs and gardens in the French style continued. The palace chapel initially served the Hussite church, later as a warehouse and only from 2002, after reconstruction, it can be visited.
The Salm-Reiferscheidt-Raitz family applied after the fall of communism for the return of their property, but for now her efforts did not bring results, so the palace still remains in the hands of the state.
