The first small wooden church in Bystrzyca was built by local evangelicals in 1587. On March 21, 1654, he was taken away by a special commission. According to church visit from 1656 and 1679, he was not yet consecrated. In 1700, the altar after the Protestants was replaced by a new, imported from Frydek, which was replaced in 1783 for the altar from the Jesuit church from Cieszyn. At the end of the next century, the old Jesuit altar went to the chapel of "Castle" of the hunting Archduke Fryderyk Habsburg at Zadnim Groń in Wisła, and in the Bystrzycki church in 1907 a copy was set up.
In 1820, the church was founded, and in 1841 the vestibule was demolished after the evangelist Jan Roik hung in it. In 1781 the building's condition was alarming, the beams and the roof structure were completely rotten. The Cieszyn chamber reacted to this, providing wood for renovation, financed by the Church Fund. At the end of the nineteenth century, the church's condition was again bad. In 1893 the church was closed, and in January 24, 1897 a mass was held for the last time. The demolition wood was sold at auction.
In the years 1896-1899 a new church was built according to the design of Albin Prokop.
