Facts and practical information
Willa Primavesi - one of the valuable projects of Viennese secession in Central Europe. Located in Czech Olomouc at ul. Univerzitní 7.
The villa is a fusion of Viennese secession with English, with noticeable influences of the Prague Baroque. It was erected by Viennese architects Franz von Krauss and Josef Tölk for the family of Bankers of the Olomouc-Primavesi in 1905-1906. The builder was Heindrich Mrasek from Olomouc. The villa stands within the historical old town, has a multi -part block and a mansard roof. In the interior there is a large hall with a magnificent wooden staircase.
Due to the large property and artistic interests of the families, the villa was gradually filled with the works of the highest quality art. This also concerned the outer part of the property. Elements of decor were designed, among others Gustav Klimt and Anton Hanak. Some of Hanak's works have been to this day, including Chairs and stained glass. Josef Hoffmann made a partial reconstruction of the house in 1916-1917.
The next owners of the facility, after leaving him by Primavesi and their move to Vienna, were František Koutný from Litovli, Robert Pospíšil I, finally, the Czechoslovak state after nationalization in 1948. In 1992, Willa returned to the descendants of the Pospíšila family, and in 2010 she gained the status of a national culture monument.
