Église Saint-Maure-et-Sainte-Brigide, Creil
Facts and practical information
The church of Sainte-Maure-et-Sainte-Brigide is a Catholic parish church located in Nogent-sur-Oise, in the center of the Creil agglomeration, in the Oise department, France. Of modest dimensions, it is nevertheless of great archaeological interest for its exceptional Romanesque bell tower of three floors with three bays per side, richly decorated, and for its radiating Gothic choir-hall of a rare homogeneity and harmony, built in a single stroke shortly before the middle of the XIII th century. The nave and the transept are of a very simple construction, but are also worthy of attention. Because of its richness, the church was classified very early as a historical monument in 1846, among the first churches in the department. It is affiliated with the parish of Tous les Saints du Creillois-Nord.
