Sixt Abbey is an abbey of canons regular of the Abondance congregation located in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, in the French department of Haute-Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in France. Founded before 1144, it was closed in 1792 following the French invasion of Savoy.
Only a part of the buildings of the old one remains today. The church and its attic, the former abbey building and the presbytery are registered as historical monuments by decree of February 17, 1997. Since the beginning of 2010, the former abbey site has been the subject of archaeological and historical research.
Since the Middle Ages, the abbey has contributed to ensuring pastoral activity in a high mountain area.
