Facts and practical information
The enclosure of Le Mans, formerly Vindinum or Vindunum, capital of the Gallic people of the Aulerques Cénomans, was built at the end of the 3rd century. It is very well preserved on approximately 500 meters and presents very beautiful geometrical ornaments realized with the polychrome materials of its construction. It has been classified as a historical monument since 1862 and is a candidate for Unesco World Heritage since 2018.
