Mentawai Islands Langur, Joja

The Mentawai langur, a captivating primate from the Cercopithecidae family, inhabits the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia. These distinctive creatures flourish in subtropical and tropical dry forests, but regrettably, their habitats are endangered due to deforestation. This jeopardizes the survival of the Mentawai langur. Notably, the Siberut langur, scientifically named P. siberu, was once classified as a subspecies of the Mentawai langur.
