Thick-billed lark

The thick-billed lark, also known as the Clotbey lark, is an intriguing bird belonging to the Alaudidae family. This species is named in honor of Antoine Clot and was initially classified within the genus Melanocorypha. However, it has since been reclassified into its own distinct genus, Ramphocoris.

These birds are predominantly found in northern Africa, ranging from Mauritania and Morocco to Libya, and also occupy central regions of the Arabian Peninsula. The thick-billed lark thrives in subtropical or tropical dry shrublands and hot desert environments, demonstrating remarkable adaptability to these arid landscapes.
