Facts About Chaku
Chaku is a delectable traditional sweet from Nepal, crafted from concentrated sugarcane juice, jaggery, ghee, and nuts. The preparation process involves cooking these ingredients until they form a solid mass. Once ready, the mixture is stretched and pulled on a hook, much like taffy, before being cut into small rolls or diamond-shaped pieces.
This treat can be savored on its own or used as an ingredient in dishes like Yomari. Chaku is particularly popular during the Maghe Sankranti festival in Nepal, where it's often served with ghee and yams.
