Pol'and'Rock Festival

The Pol'and'Rock Festival, originally known as Woodstock Festival Poland, is a beloved and free rock music festival in Poland that’s been captivating audiences since 1995. Inspired by the legendary Woodstock festival, it has evolved into a massive event over the years. The festival's motto is "Love, Friendship, Music" and it’s organized by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity as a way to express gratitude to its volunteers.

Every summer, the festival features around 30 bands performing on two stages, showcasing a mix of Polish and international acts. While rock is the main genre, attendees can also enjoy folk, experimental music, metal, reggae, electronic, and even classical tunes.

Initially called Przystanek Woodstock—a name that evoked the peace and friendship of the original Woodstock and the whimsical charm of the TV show Northern Exposure—the festival rebranded to Pol'and'Rock Festival in 2018. This change was due to a licensing issue but also highlighted the event’s rock 'n' roll spirit and its link to Poland’s democratic and freedom movements. Despite the new name, the festival’s core values remain unchanged.

In addition to the music, the festival offers a variety of activities, including The Academy Of The Finest Arts, where attendees can meet and learn from notable figures in various fields.

The festival’s journey began in 1995 in Czymanowo and has since moved through several locations like Szczecin, Żary, and Kostrzyn nad Odrą. Each year, it attracts a massive crowd, with attendance numbers frequently breaking records. Over the years, the festival has seen unforgettable performances and notable incidents, such as the filming of the 2002 event for a concert film and concerns over crowd sizes during certain shows.

Today, the Pol'and'Rock Festival remains a major cultural event in Poland, celebrating music, friendship, and charitable causes. Despite changes in its name and location, it continues to be a must-attend gathering for music lovers and supporters of social causes.
