Piec, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Piec - a very characteristic limestone rock rising in the long northwestern ridge of Ciemniak separating the Kościeliska Valley in the Western Tatras from the Miętusiej Valley. It is located in this ridge above the Wyżnią Upłaziańskiej Równią and below Równi nad Piecem, from which it is separated by Siodlo za Piecem. Above the surrounding terrain rises to a height of about 10 m. Flat and scenic place under the stove is a favorite resting place for tourists. It is also an interesting object for nature lovers. In the crevices of the rock and in small rock shelves there is an interesting mountain flora of limestone plants. Just below the rock there is another small hill - Uplazianska Kopka.
