Pośredni Wołoszyn, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Intermediate Voloshin - a 2117 m peak in the High Tatras. Formerly it was called Przedni Garb. It is located in the Voloshyn Ridge, separating the Waksmundzka Valley from the Roztoka Valley.
The peak is the third from the west from several peaks located in the Voloshin ridge. The ridge in its vicinity runs from Velky Voloshyn towards the north-east. Intermediate Voloshyn is separated from Wielki Voloshyn by Vyšné Voloshynské sedložie and from the next in the ridge Skrajný Voloshynské sedložie. From the former to the clearing Nowa Roztoka falls Koryto rift, while in the lower parts of the slopes of the Middle Voloshyn there is the White Rift. On the south-eastern slopes there is an unnamed massive crag dominating over Skalnisty Żleb, visible also from the Valley of Five Ponds. On the side of the Waksmundzka Valley are located near Pośredni Wołoszyn Pośrednia Waksmundzka Równica and Zadnia Waksmundzka Równica.
Through the Waloszyn massif was carried out in the early twentieth century by the priest Walenty Gadowski route Orla Perć. However, the section from Polana pod Wołoszynem to Krzyżne has been closed for many years, while the entire Wołoszyn massif has been placed under strict protection and excluded from tourist and mountaineering traffic.
The former name Przedni Garb was given by Father Gadowski, to whom Voloshin's appearance resembled a camel with two humps.
From rare plants we found the occurrence of big-headed saussurei - a very rare plant, in Poland found only in the Tatra Mountains and only in a few places.
