Borsuczyny
Facts and practical information
Borsuczyny - a peak in the Lesser Pieniny Mountains with an elevation of 939 m. It is not very high above the ridge of Little Pieniny, but steep and rocky peak covered with spruce forest. In the direction from Borsuczyn to Wysoka there is a pass called Stachurówki, behind it a short ridge and another pass called Kapralowa Wysoka. The Slovak-Polish border crosses through these peaks and passes. On the southern, Slovakian side the slopes of the ridge are covered with forest and belong to PENAPs, on the Polish, northern side they are wooded only in the upper parts. Below there is a large Połonina Kiczera - the remains of the former farmland of Lemkos from the village of Jaworki. The hiking trail leads through the summit of Borsuczyn, but on the northern side there is a path trodden by tourists - a shortcut that allows you to go around the summit without having to climb it. The approach to the summit and the descent from it are steep and rocky.
Of the protected mosses, Besser's bellows was found here in 2016.
