Pałac w Koszewie
Facts and practical information
Palace in Koszewo - an eclectic palace located in the southern part of the village of Koszewo, in the Stargard municipality.
This eclectic building is located on a high lakeside slope. It dates back to the years 1914-16. It is decorated with low, cylindrical towers in the corners of the facade, on the lake side there is a high tower with a double neo-baroque cupola, topped with a viewing gallery and an octagonal extension, thoroughly renovated in 1993-94. Until 1945 it was the property of the Nazi Field Marshal Friedrich Paulus. After the war, it was a training and recreation center of the State Agricultural Farm Combine in Stargard, and now it is private property. The entrance is preceded by a driveway and a four-column portico with a balcony. The courtyard is flanked by small outbuildings, behind the northern one - neo-Gothic stud farm buildings, the stables have horse head sculptures in the corners. The whole is surrounded by a decorative fence with artistically forged gate. Next to the palace, on the lake side, there is a semicircular terrace with a vast view of Miedwie Lake, and below it - a park of 5.4 hectares, situated on two terraces descending towards the lake. Originally, it was a geometrical garden founded at the end of the 18th century, next to a no longer existing manor house. The garden was spatially transformed at the beginning of the 19th century and transformed into a landscape park at the beginning of the 20th century.
