Church of Saint Catherine and Our Lady of the Rosary in Rybnik is a Roman Catholic parish church in Rybnik, in the Wielopole district, Silesia, where it was transferred from Gierałtowice in 1976. It belongs to the Golejów deanery of the Katowice Archdiocese. It is located in Górna Street.
The church is located on the Trail of Wooden Architecture of Silesian Province in Rybnik loop.
The temple was built in 1534 in Gierałtowice from the foundation of Stanislaw Dabrowka, renovated in 1676. It is a wooden building of a log construction, with a triangular closed chancel and a wider nave. The tower of pole construction with overhanging vault and tent-shaped helmet was added in 1844 by a carpenter Mateusz Pindur from Chudów. It sits on a high contemporary foundation. It has roofs and canopies of sable character, covered with shingles. On the ceiling of the nave and the presbytery there is a late Gothic polychromy of patronal and ornamental character. The interior decoration is contemporary. It has stood in its present location since 1976. It is the oldest monument of wooden architecture in the region of Rybnik.
In the planked ceiling of the interior of the church a valuable polychrome from 1534 has been preserved with motives of the Piast eagle in a Gothic shield and an image of the patron saint of the church, St. Catherine. The polychrome was discovered during a renovation in 1960-1961. The following have been preserved from the old equipment: a baroque pulpit from the 17th century, a wooden baptismal font with a skull supported by an angel, a supporter's bench from 1691 and a painting of St. Catherine from 1828 by František Frömel from Fulnek in Moravia. Also noteworthy is the late baroque main altar from 1827 made for 100 thalers by the sculptor Izydor Mrowec from Krzanowice. Late Baroque side altars from the 17th century contain paintings of St. Joachim and St. Anne and St. Mary Magdalene.
There are green areas around the church and young larches, black pines and prickly spruces are growing. Near the church there are also contemporary tombstones of the pastors - Rev. Jerzy Rzerzucha and Rev. Stanislaw Plaza.
