Góra Maciejowa
Facts and practical information
Maciejowa - a peak in the Gorce Mountains. It is located in the long ridge running from Turbacz west to Rabka-Zdrój. It is located in this ridge between the Tatary peak and Przysłop Glade. Above this glade rise close to each other three unconquered peaks; in order from west to east they are: Maciejowa, Przysłop and Bardo. On the summit of Przysłop there is the PTTK mountain hostel on Maciejowa. Between the peaks of Maciejowa and Przysłop there is a mountain pass called Kocioł.
Maciejowa is almost completely overgrown with forest, only in its eastern slope a narrow strip of Przysłop clearing cuts into it. The north-eastern slope descends to the Slonka valley, the south-western to the Poniczanka valley. In its lower part the Worwów stream flows. On the northern slope there is a set of ski lifts, the longest of which reaches near the top.
The Kazimierz Sosnowski Main Beskid Trail marked in red crosses the peak. On the summit the black trail from Rabka-Zdrój to Plasówka ends. The Maciejowa Ridge and northern slopes are exposed. A wide view of Mount Babia, the Polica Range and the Makowski Beskid can be enjoyed from this place.
Maciejowa is located outside the area of the Gorceñski National Park, within the borders of Rabka-Zdrój in Nowy Targ county, Malopolska province.
