Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia, Kraków

The Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, also known as the Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia, is a sacred place of worship that has become a beacon of hope and pilgrimage in the city of Kraków, Poland. This church is deeply rooted in the spiritual history of the country and is dedicated to the Divine Mercy devotion, which is based on the visions of Saint Faustina Kowalska.

Located in the district of Łagiewniki, the sanctuary is not just a single structure but a complex that includes the chapel where Saint Faustina's remains are interred. The sanctuary draws in a multitude of visitors each year, who come to seek spiritual solace, partake in the sacraments, and venerate the famous image of Jesus, known as "Jesus, I trust in You," which Saint Faustina commissioned following her divine visions.

The modern basilica, consecrated in 2002 by Pope John Paul II, is a striking example of contemporary church architecture, featuring a tall, bright space designed to accommodate the thousands of pilgrims who flock to the sanctuary, especially during the Feast of Divine Mercy, celebrated on the Sunday after Easter.

In addition to the basilica, the sanctuary's grounds also include the original convent where Saint Faustina lived and the iconic white marble chapel, which houses the miraculous image and the saint's tomb.
