Ťažký štít, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
A hard peak, formerly the Czech peak - one of the vertices in the high massif. It is located in the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains between the Waga Pass and the Pod Wysoka Pass. Earlier measurements determined the height of the top at 2500 m or 2520 m.
A long side ridge goes from the heavy peak to the south-west. There are dragon ridge, Kopa Popradzka and Poprad Grań. The ridge separates the Valley Żabia Mięguszowiecka from the Dragon Valley.
The heavy peak, dragon peak and two high tops can be covered with a common name of the High Crown.
The name of the summit is associated with the name of the valley - in Polish: heavy valley, in Slovak: ťažká Dolina. The German and Hungarian version of the name was given in honor of Martin Ródy, an outstanding mountaineer and tourist activist.
First recorded entrances: summer: Ernst Dubke and guide Johann Franz Senior, July 7, 1904. Winter: Lajos Károly Horn and Ernő Kátai, March 23, 1913.
