Huncovský štít, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Huncowski Szczyt - a peak with a height of 2352 or 2351 m a.s.l. in a short south-eastern ridge coming from the Kieżmarski summit. It is the furthest to the east with a high Tatra peak. From Mała Kieżmarska Czubki - the nearest hill in the massif of the Kieżmarski Szczyt - he is separated by the Huncowska Pass.
The Huncowski peak has two almost equal height of the tops, separated by Huncowska Szczerbina. The northwest tip is slightly higher, while wider views extend from the south-east. The massif rises above the Łomnicka Valley in the southwest and marmot of Huncowska - the upper floor of the Huncowska Valley - in the northeast. The wide triangular slope falling to the southeast is piairgea and is called Jaszczerzyca. These slopes are covered with a Gołoborzem resulting from the accelerated weathering of rocks near the glacier. The red trail leads through them to the Rakuski Przegoda. The extension of the Jaszczezyca is the extensive Huncist by the way. It is covered with a forest with a natural upper border and larch stands interesting for researchers.
The slope falling towards Huncowska Świstówka is a wide and grassy-piabelist. There is a clear gully in it, disappearing near the north-west vertex of the massif. To the eastern-north-east direction from the south-east tip, the righteously released the right limitation of Hunc's marmot is falling. To the south of her there is an outstanding gully, on the other hand surrounded by the eastern perch of the massif separating on the northern edge of the Jaszczerzyca. This slope in the southwest, in turn, is limited by a long piabryist, falling towards the Łomnicki pond, connecting to the east in the culmination called Jaszczerzycka Kopa. On the side of the Łomnicka Valley, however, the southern wall directed towards the funnel boiler and the lower southwest wall ending in the middle fragments of the gully falling from the Hunców pass are falling on the Hunców peak. In the left part of the southern wall, an outstanding pillar is separated, in the lower part of which is the Huncian tower.
You can only reach the top with an authorized guide. The most convenient roads lead to him by a ridge from the Huncowska Pass and the south-eastern perch from the Łomnica pond. The most interesting for mountaineers is the left pillar of the southern wall.
The first recorded entrances: Summer - Ferenc Dénes, around 1895 in winter - Günter Oskar Dyhrenfurth, Alfred Martin, March 8, 1906.
The views from the summit are relatively limited, but the cliffs in the Kieżmarski Szczyt and Łomnica massifs look interesting.
The name of the Hunców peak comes from the village of Huncowce, previously it was used in relation to the Kieżmarski peak. On the panorama of Georg Buchholtz Junior the massif of the Kieżmarski peak was signed as Hunnisvillense Cacumen. Later, the Hundsdorffer Spitzen and Hundsdorfer Spitze appeared in the print.
