Jarząbczy Wierch / Hrubý vrch, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Jarząbczy Wierch or simply Jarząbczy - a peak in the powerful ridge of Otargans in the Slovak Western Tatras, adjacent to this ridge with Raczkowa Czuba. It is located just above the main ridge, between the ending Wierch, from which it is separated by a ribble pass, and a shovel, separated from it with a low pass. The Polish-Slovak border runs after these peaks and the passes. The main vertex of Jarząbczy Wierch is located on the Slovak side, because the state border runs the main ridge, through its lower point, at which the Polish plate with a height of 2137 m is wrongly located.
Jarząbczy Wierch rises above the valleys: Jarząbcza, Jamnicka and Raczkowa. At the foot of his urgent eastern slopes in the Raczkowa Valley there are three rap joints. The western slopes are slightly milder, extremely rocky and there are characteristic ditches on 4 levels. Huge avalanches slide out of both slopes in winter. The lower part of the northern slopes is the so -called Low Tournie - rugged walls steeply falling into the glacier boiler of a rowan glacier.
This is a haughty peak built of Rohackian granodiorites. The right vertex is 2137 m high. It leads a green tourist trail on it. Of the rare plants in Poland, there is a glaucoma ruter, Hungarian for adventure and ravine.
The name comes from the highlander family of Jarząbków. On the map of Baltazar Hacquet from 1796 it was marked as Iresmbin. The first winner of the summit was probably the Swedish naturalist Göran Wahlenberg, who in 1813 measured his height. The first winter entrance - skiers of the Zakopane skier unit in 1910. From the summit, extensive views, especially the nearby Rohacze, Starorobociański Wierch, Bystra with Zadna Kopa and the Barańca massif.
