Facts and practical information
Cemetery of the Mountains victims in Little Fatra - a symbolic cemetery located in an old valley in the Mała Fatra mountain band in Slovakia. It is located at the Vrátna Tourist Center, near the lower station of the Vrátna - bread.
The cemetery was built by Slovak Horská Služba. It was opened and dedicated in July 25, 1998, as the fourth of its kind in Slovakia. At the time of the opening, there were 52 plates commemorating the victims of the mountains from 1957-1997 and a plaque dedicated to 14 residents of the Štefanová settlement, who in 1848 died as a result of floods. Since 1998, new plates with names are placed on wooden posts.
In a small chapel there is an inscription MŕTvy on a souvenir, Živým pre výstrahu. On All Saints' Day, a service is celebrated here.
A marked path leads to the cemetery from the Vrátna hut - it takes 5-10 minutes.
