Liptovská veža, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Liptowskie Turnie - three tournas located in the side southern ridge of the Ostre in the Slovak High Tatras, and more precisely in its northern fragment, goat's ridge. From the acute peak north of them, they are separated by a Liptów switch, while in the south from Ważecka Turnia they are separated by a sharp switch.
In the past, the name in Polish literature was used in singular: Liptowska Turnia - corresponding to the Slovak Liptovská veža, determining the culmination of the goat's ridge. Liptów Turnia treated in this way had three vertices distant from each other without its own names. In the Tatra Tatras guide Witold Henryk Paris, Liptowska Turnia is in turn referred to as a not very outstanding, two -zone Turnia. The following facilities are distinguished in the border: Zadnia Liptowska Turnia, Wyżnia Liptowska Przehyba, indirect Liptowska Turnia, Liptowska Niętowska Przehyba, Extrane Liptowska Turnia.
Between the extreme Liptów Turnia and the sharp switch there are also: Kozi Karbik, Kozi Róg.
The section between the Liptów switch and Wyżnia Liptowska Przehyba is the Liptów ridge.
The guide of Witold Henryk Paryski as the Slovak name of Liptowska Turnia is given by Kozí Chrbát, so corresponding to the goat's ridge. However, the description of the Liptów switch shows that as the main point of the massif, the indirect Liptowska Turnia is treated here - Zadnia Liptowska Turnia is located just above the Liptów switch. The four -language Tatra dictionary assigns the name Liptowska Turnia, in turn, to Liptów Turnia.
The first entry was made by Alfred Martin in winter on March 19, 1906.
