Playa de Valdearenas

Valdearenas beach is a beach located in the town of Liencres, municipality of Piélagos, in Cantabria. It is one of the two beaches that are located next to the natural park of the Dunes of Liencres. It borders on its western end with the mouth of the river Pas, and to the east with the beach of Canallave, with which it joins at low tide.
It is a large beach, characterized by a clear and fine sand and large dunes located next to a pine forest. It alternates the eastern area, more rocky, with the western area with hardly any rocks. It is frequent that there is a strong swell so it is an ideal place for surfers. The tides are very strong and due to its size and danger it has a large team of lifeguards. It also stands out for its oceanic prairie landscape and enjoys beautiful views and spectacular sunsets.
