Facts and practical information
Mur Castle is an important example of 11th-century civil architecture located in the Spanish municipality of Castell de Mur, in the Pallars Jussá region of the province of Lérida.
In its shelter there was the military village of Mur, abandoned since ancient times, to which the church of Santa María de Mur belonged. It is a remarkable high medieval settlement, with the remains of a cyclopean wall and numerous remains of floors carved into the rock, discovered in the archaeological surveys carried out especially in 1977.
