Haninge kulturhus, Södertörn
Facts and practical information
Haninge Kulturhus at Poseidon's Square in Handen was inaugurated on 12 December 2002.
Most parts of the cultural centre face the square: the combined foyer and café, the cultural room, the theatre and the art hall. The art gallery has around three thousand visitors per exhibition and shows mostly contemporary art. There is also a children's art workshop adjacent to the art hall.
The other side of the house borders on a wooded area and the book hall/library has been placed on this side of the house. The library contained 91,000 volumes at the time of its inauguration, and among the literature is a range of books and articles on the history of Haninge. As well as a collection of books by and about the author Fredrika Bremer. The library also offers tools for genealogical research and study rooms. The cultural centre also has conference rooms that are used for theatre and dance and, in the past, for meetings of the municipal council.
